Vedanta Iron Ore contributes 1 crore to the COVID-19 relief fund of the Karnataka Chief Minister

New Delhi: Vedanta Iron Ore in Karnataka, today contributed 1 crore to the COVID-19 Chief Minister's Relief Fund, the Karnataka government, to fight the widespread outbreak of deadly COVID-19. Mr. Krishna Reddy, Chief External Relations Officer Vedanta Iron Ore Business, Karnataka, and Ms. Meghna Ghosh, Chief External Relations Officer Vedanta Iron Ore Business, Karnataka, met at Vidhan Soudha with the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri B.S Yediyurappa, and handed him the letter and donation check. In line with Vedanta's care and community welfare philosophy, Vedanta Iron Ore Business has also worked closely with the Chitradurga, Goa, Jharkhand and Vizag District Administration Office to assist them in providing the necessary infrastructure and providing protective equipment across the state's COVID-19 medical facilities.

Today, when the Covid-19 pandemic posed unprecedented challenges to the state of Karnataka, the contribution of false crore to the COVID-19 relief fund of the chief minister is a step forward in the fight against coronavirus. Vedanta Iron Ore at Karnataka, has initiated several activities on – ground support to overcome this difficult situation. Recently, with the aim of ensuring the protection of those who protect us by jeopardizing their lives and leading from the front during emergencies, Vedanta Iron Ore in Karnataka provided the Chitradurga District Police with 250 Personal Protective Kits and 5,000 hand gloves, 100 masks and sanitizer bottles to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) – Chitradurga and 150 masks of cotton for t Police stations through the District, DMG, and Chitradurga Forest Office were provided with fumigation services.

Vedanta Iron Ore in Karnataka has always had a symbolic relationship with the Chitradurga Community for many decades, and in this critical situation the company handed over 10 ICU cots and 10 Multi-Para Monitors to the District Administration to be installed at COVID – 19 Relief District Hospital along 500 sanitary bottles, 2500 triple-layer N95 masks, 500 personal protective kits and one bottle. The company has also given the District Administration Office over 3,400 ration kits to help them be well prepared in the current situation. Besides this, Vedanta Iron Ore at Karnataka handed out 2600 three-layered cloth masks over the course of two weeks to police officers, health workers and community people throughout the district of Chitradurga handmade by local SHG women.
