When it returns to action on Thursday, La Liga will use virtual imagery of the stands on TV with added 'fan audio' by the FIFA video game makers.

Domestic radios in Spain are offering their viewers the choice of a "natural" transmission to play behind closed doors without any fans, but only the enhanced audio and graphics broadcast by the international audience.

In a statement on Sunday, La Liga said that the use of technology "will make matches attractive to the way they looked and rang before the competition was postponed."

The stands will "virtualize" and provide a comprehensive overview of the colored seated fans of the home club. The League cooperated on technology with the Norwegian company VIZRT.

In a project called Sounds of the Stands, virtual sound was developed with video game firm EA SPORTS FIFA.

"It's a great experience for us to work with global partners. We 're in an exceptional situation, but it was important for us to be able to adapt and provide our fans with compelling, state-of-the-art broadcasting.

The restart is starting on Thursday between Seville and Real Betis and on Sunday champions visit Real Mallorca and the Real Madrid host Eibar.
