Star Wars The High Republic has been officially delayed until 2021

On Tuesday, Lucasfilm announced that the planned Star Wars: The High Republic editing line of novels and comic books has been delayed until 2021.

Adult novel Charles Soule's Light of the Jedi and middle grade novel Justina Ireland's A Test of Courage will now be released on Jan. 5. Claudia Gray's young adult novel Into the Dark was moved to 2 Feb.

New release dates will be announced at a later date for Marvel's The High Republic comic book series and the IDW's The High Republic Adventures Comic book series.

The publishing line of the High Republic will explore the galaxy of the Star Wars 200 years before The Phantom Menace events kick off the Skywalker Saga.

This era will feature the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic with the galaxy at peace at the height of their powers until a new threat comes in.

Michael Siglain, creative director of Lucasfilm Publishing said the delay was to ensure the launch of The High Republic is grand and epic.
