Scottish police cordoned off streets in Glasgow on Sunday after what they described as a targeted attack without giving details that was not linked to a Friday incident, police and local media said.

Television channel STV reported a man was stabbed.

Police inspector Gareth Griffiths said in a Twitter message: "We believe this was a targeted attack and the wider public is not threatened. This is not being treated as related to the incident on Friday , June 26th in West George Street, Glasgow, or any nearby hotels or accommodations.

Six people were stabbed at a hotel in the city center on Friday, including a policeman, before the attacker was shot dead in an incident that the police said they were not treating as terrorism.
