In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James has rubbished reports from executives and agents wanting the NBA season canceled.

NBA staff and player agents were reported to want to end the season that has been put on hold since March 11.

James said he's ready to play and finish the season as soon as it's safe to come out again on the court.

"Saw reports about execs (executives) and agents wanting to cancel season?? That's absolutely not true. Nobody I know saying anything like that," James tweeted.

"I am ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be cancelling anything," he added.

Liverpool soccer player Virgil can Dijk take note of James' post and respond with an emoji force / power. He seemingly agreed with James' suggestion not to cancel the NBA season.

Van Dijk's Liverpool themselves were within touching distance of their first ever Premier League title when last month's coronavirus outbreak abruptly stopped the season.

The Netherlands, Belgium and France have called off their respective football seasons, but reports suggest that in June soccer associations are continuing with their plans to restart their respective leagues in England, Spain and Italy.
