iPhone SE Manufacturing will take place in India


This move might help Apple to gain a greater foothold in the growing market that accounts for only 2% of Apple's total income.

The information quoted a familiar person on Thursday saying that at least one Apple supplier was asked to deliver iPhone SE components to an Indian facility beginning in July. Apple ( AAPL) – On Thursday, receiving reports shares traded approximately flat at $351.87.

The new iPhone SE, released in late April, is appearing to be healthy in early sales.

Based on a shipping time analysis, the frequently quoted analyst of TF Securities Ming-CHI Kuo wrote that early sales in the iPhone SE are 'better than expected' and that overall iPhone sales in the second quarter are expected to fall 20% to 25%.

Written by the end of April, Gene Munster of Loup Ventures predicted that in the next 12 months, this new budget friendly model represented some 20 percent of all iPhone sales, representing approximately 30 million overall units.

Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook called for a "exceptional" welcome for the new model. "I have seen a strong customer response to the iPhone SE, our cheapest iPhone. But it seems that these customers come primarily from wanting or coming from Android because they want a smaller factor in form with the latest technology," said Cook.
