FIFA reschedules U-17, U-20 World Cups to 2021


The Costa Rica and Panama Women's Under-20 World Cup tournament, postponed from August-September due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now scheduled for Jan. 20-Feb. Next year's world governing body FIFA said Tuesday.

The India Women's Under-17 World Cup, originally planned for November, was also rescheduled for Feb. 17-March 7, 2021.

Dates were confirmed after considering the time needed to complete qualifying tournaments.

Also, the Futsal World Cup, originally scheduled for September-October this year in Lithuania, was pushed to Sept. 12-Oct. Three, 2021.

Meanwhile, on Sept. 18, the 70th FIFA Congress, originally scheduled to take place in Addis Abeba, will be held online.
