.In a new interview with Gamergen, narrative director of Infinity Ward Taylor Kurosaki, the narrative director of Infinity Ward confirmed that Warzone "will be the through line that connects all of the different various sub-franchises of Call of Duty."

"It's going to be really cool to see how the different sub-franchises come in and out of focus, but Warzone's going to be the one constant," he continued, explaining that "I know our plan is Warzone's going to be around for quite some time, so as soon as those new [PS5 and Xbox Series X] systems are out and available, I'm sure we're going to support them."
Infinity Ward has already updated its hugely popular online experience with regular Call of Duty sets: Modern Warfare patch notes, adding new modes, weapons, and gameplay features to the PvP battlefield, as well as supporting integration with the base game and the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered campaign.
By the way, a recent job listing from Respawn Entertainment also seemed to confirm that Apex Legends is also making the jump to next-gen in the future, suggesting the battle royale era is far from over yet.
