Black Ops: Cold War can be the next Call Of Duty launch

According to the way in which Modern Warfare returned to the roots of Infinity Ward, Call of Duty developer Treyarch seems to have returned to where Black Ops began.

As was the case for this year's Call of Duty series, the game seemed to have leaked ahead of its official ad. Although Activision has confirmed that a new Call of Duty will be arriving this year, it didn't share anything and, at that point in the year, we would usually know when and what the next game would be. However, the game this year will be called the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, according to a tweet confirmed by Eurogamer since that time. This would be the fifth biggest game in the sub-series, and the time that made the games famous would apparently come back. But we don't understand how closely the original game is going to follow, or whether it'll be a whole new beast.

The name of Black Ops Cold War first came from Okami13 on Twitter, and Eurogamer has been reporting the same information from its sources since then. As for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019, developer Treyarch goes home to where Call of Duty: Black Ops began - a sharp change in the Black Ops' third and fourth installments of the forward-looking fighting.

In Call of Duty: Warzone, the Cold War setting has already been teased with reports of plans to eventually reveal the whole game. A Cold War spyplane by sliding across the walls was found by players. The revelation could have connected to the mystery that continues behind many of Warzone 's doors.

The original call for duties: Black Ops was established in the 60s, and during the Vietnam War it conducted missions. For Treyarch, our Call of Duty was the most important release: Black Ops review that scored 9/10. Chris Watters, the critic, wrote: "Call of Duty: Black Ops lives to the highest pedigree the series won, giving players an amazing new shooter to enjoy on vacation just in time."

Last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare rebooted the "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" for 2007, by means of returning characters and recontextualizing them as a pseudo prelude to the events of the original. It remains to be seen whether this is the formula Treyarch.
