Airbnb is developing a new project that will allow users to check another users' COVID-19 validity.
Hosts can make guests aware of possible ailments that could harm them upon arrival
The tool is voluntary at first, but will be required as necessary.
A new tool will help Airbnb hosts ensure that their guests are in top physical condition before checking in.
-This "Health Safety Attestation," is a tool to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and at the same time ease consumers' fears.
Health Safety Attestation is developed in accordance with the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Attestation is only a suitable formality if local laws demand otherwise. Maybe at some point in the future, the COVID-19 check would also be a part of the tool.
The tool is designed to provide extra safety for hosts and venues. Airbnb has a safety rule that guests must not apply for accommodations if they have a contagious disease, are infected, are showing symptoms, or have been exposed to COVID-19. If guests booking is with COVID-19 status before check-in, they can cancel for full refund.
This is not the first initiative that Airbnb has attempted to prevent people with criminal backgrounds from using its site.
In the spring , Airbnb debuted its high-profile cleaning initiative. Initially, the programme was voluntary but it later turned into obligation.
